BT Pension Scheme:
Commutation Factors Enhancement Window Update

593/2011 reported that BT had introduced an "enhancement window". Under
the Enhancement Window, until 30 September 2011, anyone leaving BT and
immediately taking their pension will be covered by the pre-1st July 2011
commutation factors if that would be better for them. At the time of the initial
announcement BT were still considering our suggestion that the scope of the
proposal should be extended.
Following
further discussions, BT has now confirmed that if individuals want to make use of the "enhancement window" and remain in
employment with BT, then applications will be sympathetically considered on a
case by case basis.
Anyone
who has declined this option should contact CWU HQ.
BT has
also confirmed that there will be no other changes to those in scope for the
"window".
