Dear Colleague CWU Disability & Special Needs Conference - Saturday 25th October 2008 The CWU Disability & Special Needs Advisory Committee have decided to hold this year's Disability & Special Needs Conference in Birmingham. Conference Venue - Saturday 25th October 2007 The Conference will take place at the Jurys Inn Hotel, 245 Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2HQ. The Hotel is located on Broad St, Birmingham and has good public transport links. It is on a bus route and is close to New Street, Five Ways and Snow Hill railway Stations. There is ample on street parking nearby and this is free for Blue badge holders. The Hotel has a car park with disabled parking bay's as well. These should be reserved prior to the event for those that require them. Social Event - Friday 24th October 2007 All those attending the Conference are invited to a social event, which will be held at the Jurys Inn Hotel, further details will be circulated nearer the time. Accommodation It is important that Branches book places early at The Jurys Inn Hotel, as they will be holding a number of rooms on a 'first come, first served' basis. Accommodation rates: (preferential CWU rates for Friday night only) Double rooms (sole occupancy) charged @ £79, bed and breakfast Double rooms (double occupancy) charged @ £88 per room, bed and breakfast {Please note that the release date for rooms is 26th September 2008} Crèche If anyone requires a crèche, could you please let the Equal Opportunities Department know as quickly as possible and no later than Monday 6th October, as the crèche assistants are on 'standby' dependent on the number of children who will be attending the Conference. Prayer Room Please let the Equal Opportunities Department know as quickly as possible and no later than Monday 6th October if anyone requires a prayer room, so that we can arrange a quiet room for this. Detailed information, including registration forms for the Conference and disability requirements will be sent out via the National Standing Orders Committee at a later date.
